R.Y.A. COASTAL SKIPPER PRACTICAL
Learn skippering techniques and navigation for coastal passages, advanced boat handling and pilotage.
   
DURATION: 7 days (Monday - Saturday)
CAPACITY: Maximum 5 students per course
REQUIRED SAILING EXPERIENCE: A knowledge of navigation to Coastal Skipper shore based level. 15 days aboard, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles logged and 8 night hours

   
During this practical course you will be guided through navigation - both offshore and in limited visibility. You will also be taught advanced weather forecasting and passage planning in addition to watch-keeping and preparation for sea. Each student will have an opportunity to plan and execute passages while taking complete command of the yacht.

At the end of the course a thorough debrief session given by the instructor, will assist you in further developing skippering ability and confidence.

Upon the successful completion of the course you will confidently be able to skipper a boat on coastal passages safely.

The 2 Oceans | RYA Coastal skipper Practical course is run throughout the year.
